Are acids/ acid peels same as AHA and BHA?

? Full form of aha is alpha hydroxy and bha is beta hydroxy acids. Both of them are types of skin acids. Though there are several other types of acids, these two are commonly known types and most scientifically proven to be showing results on the skin.⁣

Don’t let the word ‘acid’ fool you :) Any compound which has a pH of <7 is considered acidic, even your skin is acidic. Acids aren’t harmful for the skin, in fact they are more compatible being closer in pH to the skin⁣⁣

Acids loosen the bonds of the dead cells and exfoliate them off the skin to reveal a brighter and fresher skin. Depending on the type of acid, apart from exfoliating, they also have brightening, hydrating and anti aging properties⁣⁣ ⁣⁣
