we keep getting a lot of questions on Hyaluronic Acid/ HA and here we are compiling a few of them together in 2 different parts ?
✨ Is HA same as AHA?
HA is Hyaluronic Acid and AHA is Alpha Hydroxy Acid and they are both very different. HA provides hydration to the skin, while AHA exfoliates the skin
? Isn't HA an acid? Is it safe to be used?
Yes, though HA is an acid, its pH is anywhere between 5-8, which is safe for the skin. HA doesn't irritate skin, instead it soothes skin and safe to be applied on sensitive skin
☀️ Should HA be used on damp skin?
It is advisable to use HA on damp skin - HA absorbs moisture from around and deposits into the skin. Hence, applying HA on damp skin, especially in dry weather conditions is advantageous
? Is it compulsory to use moisturiser after HA?
Moisturiser helps add emollients & occlusives into the skin, which seal in the moisturiser deposited into the skin by Hyaluronic acid. Hence, it is advisable to use moisturiser after using HA
⭐️ Does HA pull moisture from the skin and make skin dry?
No, a well formulated HA pulls moisture only from external sources such as damp skin/ external atmosphere and doesn't make the skin dry
?A quick trivia - Hyaluronic Acid has been used to accelerate wound healing in medicine!
